Up till now

This is my second attempt to work out how to get the Blog up and running - so please bear with me!!!

Left and Below is The Southport Yacht Club where Fete Accomplie is currently moored after a 12 month adventure from Napa Valley in california.

Fete Accomplie was bought in July 2009 from Greg & Laura Guinn in Napa Valley and refitted there for the sail back to Australia. Previously the boat was
owned by Dr Eugene Eisenberger, also of Napa, and from what I have been told, both Burl Ives and Raymond Burr also owned one of these vessels.

Fete Accomplie was designed by the internationally famous Ted Brewer and is 45ft long with a displacement of 20 tons which includes a ballast of some 9000lbs. She has a full length keel and the hull and deck were hand laid by CT Chen in Taiwan and finished by Roughwater Yachts in California.

Roughwater yachts were famous some 30-40 years ago in constructing very sturdy and much sought after power cruisers. I believe that they are now
back in business and again building up their band with both new and old vessels for sale. Look them

Having bought Fete in Napa and spent some 6-7 weeks refitting her for the passage across the Pacific, we set off one Sunday moring in early October 2009 and motored down to San Francisco where we stayed right in the heart at Pier 39. We were ther for almost a week and on the 7th October we set sail out under the Golden Gate.
The phots at left are taken motoring up to the Golden Gate and then actually as we went under her
and took a heading of 236 deg (SW) on our way to Hawaii.

I will try and post this now to see if it can be sent out and if successful I will then go back and tell the full story.
